Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.
There has always been an issue with wolves among the sheep. Jesus warned us about them and told us to judge them by their fruits. I have never heard anyone tell me about what happens when the wolf is exposed. How they spin things to convince others they are sheep, how the judgement leveled against them is ungodly, how incredibly violent they get when they don’t get their way.
You can BS the entire world, but you cannot BS God. People can speak well of you, you can fight your whole life to have opinions be favorable towards yourself, but in your heart of hearts if there is wickedness God sees it.
In the American church the fear of the Lord is become too uncommon. Do preachers who mistreat their people really think God doesn’t see and that He won’t judge? If men lived in the fear of the Lord they could find mercy; instead they hide their sin in pride and end up exposed by God haters like Roy’s Report.
The day is coming quickly where the pulpit will be filled with men instead of cowards. I believe judgement is coming quicker and more severely than it has in the past. Like birth pains before the baby comes into the world, the frequency of exposure is here. This pain is going to shake false preachers and counterfeit men of god out of the church. Jesus will destroy the wolf.
2 Timothy 3:9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
I witnessed it first hand a few years ago and saw the severity and kindness of God, the severity towards wickedness and His kindness towards His children. To my shock I also saw the arrogance of the men exposed who hold onto and even still proclaim themselves righteous. I see it again in the church I grew up in. It is troubling to see them squirm and manipulate as the light crashes in on them, but even more troubling to see anyone fall for their trap. To these men I say with the sternest of warnings- you can BS yourselves and try to trick people, but you will face Him someday. May God have mercy on your souls.
1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
It’s important we turn judgement upon ourselves. It’s easy to see the failings of others, especially when it’s public and defiles many. We who have been hurt are not without guilt. I know how much I need mercy, how I am grateful that the Lord grants me repentance. When you have been sinned against by a leader in the church, pray for God to grant them the mercy He has granted you. Pray that He would bring them to repentance, and let God search you so you don’t let arrogance overtake you. At the end of the day, God will be the judge. No one gets away with anything. That should be as frightening as it is comforting for us that have been hurt- do you have need to repent today?
To the sheep of His pasture: He loves us so much. There are good under shepherds that love Him and love His people appropriately. Don’t give yourself to brutes. Find men that love Christ and lay their lives down for the sheep, not wolves who make excuses for bad behavior.
Romans 11:22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, for if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
